Book's Abstract

Almost five hundred years have passed since the terrible conflict that destroyed civilization. The inhabitants of the seaside community of New Ark believe that their town is the last remnant of the ancient civilization that once thrived in the entire continent. But they are still living in fear of the Ancient Plague, a biological weapon, used during the last great war, that decimated their ancestors and put an end to the so-called Sixth Golden Age.

The reckless decision of a young couple to violate the strict sanity protocol that gradually had obtained a religious dimension in the past centuries is about to trigger a siquence of events that will set the foundations of the isolated community in great danger. Now that some of the greatest secrets of their past are about to be revealed, the microcosm of lies that surrounds them is ready to collapse with unpredictable consequences. The future of New Ark will be now placed in the hands of Rena, a young probationary priestess, who will find herself in the midst of a stormy conflict between the ruthless Great Priestess of the Holy Order and the short-tempered archon-general of the Old Fort of New Ark that also happens to be Rena's stepfather.

Pressed by the rapid unfoldment of that dangerous situation that is putting in danger all those she loves, Rena has to choose who she wants to be and surpass herself by making a major decision about the future. And that decision of hers would be crucial for the safety of the entire town of New Ark, as well as of its people.
